Coffee vs. Green Tea

Remember the line that says, "Coffee, Tea or me?" Kidding aside what beverage would you really prefer? I personally love coffee, although I like the decaffeinated one because I find caffeine a little bitter. I drink green tea primarily because of it's ancient tested health benefits only, I don't like the taste.

Did you know that was a study conducted in US by Harvard researchers that caffeinated coffee can cut the risk of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, skin and liver cancer? They said that coffee can even prevent migraines from attacking which is more beneficial to me. Although some are certain that they can reduce fertility on women who are trying to conceive or a lot more dangerous to the blood pressure of high blood patients. Since coffee have contains antioxidants, women are more likely to drink coffee than men. Given all the benefits or even disadvantages of coffee, perking up one's day is what coffee can mostly deliver.

Green tea has a good record given the fact that it's medicinal benefits can be trace since ancient history. They said that green tea can knock your headaches or even depression. The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published a study indicating that green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer on Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. There is also a research about how green tea can manage to lower the total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good cholesterol (HDL) to bad LDL cholesterol. The antioxidant EDCG or epigallocathechin gallate can kill the cancer cells without harming healthy tissues. According to some study, Green Tea can prevent tooth decay and for women can also help to speed up metabolism. There are a lot of products in the market that now containts green tea such as energy bars, candies, chips, drinks, chocolates, doughnuts, ice cream and even the known coffee shop brand sell geen teas.

If I were to choose between the two, I'd still prefer the one that taste the best, but drinking both of them and thinking about the benefits that you can enjoy long-term is what matters the most.
