Things You Really Learn in School

Wake up at 6 a.m.,eat breakfast and go to school. 4 p.m. your home, eat your snacks and do your homework, watch TV a little then by 9 p.m. your in bed and ready to sleep. That's the typical day for most students, your whole day revolves around school. Not to mention hoe hectic it was to be the president of this club or a leader of this group. After graduation you realize things that are a little bit funny sometimes. Do you still memorize the preamble of the constitution or the formula of your physics test? Well, most probably the answer is no.
What are the things that we remember after school, below are what my friends and i have in common.

Discipline

I always wonder before why some school requires morning classes. For a night owl like me it is a big dilemma and so being late is not new to me. :) After school I realize that it is not about how early you wake up, it is the discipline to sleep early to wake up on time, manage your time wisely and keep the luxury of watching TV on saturdays and sundays. Discipline should be with us always especially after school because the real world does not tolerate late comers.

Don't sweat the small stuff

I am such a worry rat and it did not help at all. I was jumping from one school project to another and if something went bad, I panic, which makes it even worst. Deadlines are horrifying having 8 subjects and half of that needs a lot of your attention. Worrying, will confuse you, you'll just forget to deal with the most important things because you are so preoccupied with the least important ones.
Take time to breathe and smell the coffee. :) Some bad things that comes our way does not necessary mean that we have to take them all. The more relax your mind is, the more you can focus on the more important ones.

Take the critisms positively

You may hate your adviser when she tells you how bad your grades are or a seatmate for telling you that your not good in numbers. Wait till you meet you boss and co-workers. Harsh words are hard to take but this will make you realize more things about yourself. It is the perfect time to start looking for your strengths, it is what experts called the process of elimination where you remove weaknesses to look at your strenghts. If your not good in numbers, you may be good in letters. If your horrible in singing maybe it is dancing.

Independence

For the fortunate you have your yaya to take care of you or you mom to cook breakfast and fix your things. The real test of maturity is independence and we are not just talking about financials but a whole lot more. At school, your teachers wants you to do your homework not just because they want to punish you but they are actually teaching you to do it on your own. You will never test your limits or learn your capabilities until you try to do it yourself.

Enjoy!

I took everything seriously in school, not the over-achiever type but more on the perfectionist side. Never will I pass a paper work that has a lot of editing to do, or an artwork that needs improvement on colors. My older friends use to tell me to take it easy because when you after school, you'll miss everything. When your working, you won't be able to bond with your friends like you do in school, mistakes are lesser, failures are much painful and superiors sometimes won't accept that charming smile you flash to your teachers. Take that sweet journey easy and keep lock it in your heart.
